July...

Dash has been spending his days at the wading pool, spray ground and baby pool to beat the heat, so this mommy has spent very little time at the computer, which is not necessarily a bad thing. But, alas, after being chastized by several relatives, Mr. Incredible was dispatched to perform lifeguard duty so I can post some recent pictures.

The little man's new tricks include:
Running--sometimes gets so far ahead of himself that he stops himself with his forehead instead of his hands
Jumping--Dash has hops! He can get a good 2 inches if he's on a bouncy surface life a crib mattress or couch
The Indian--When prompted by Mommy, putting his hand over his mouth to make his little indian sound
Talking--Sitting on the floor of his room with a dozen good board books turning pages and relating a vey interesting story in baby talk
Pointing--At virtually any and every object
Sharing--Handing Mr. Incredible or Mommy virtually any and every object, including golf balls
Chasing ducks--Now preferred over swinging at the park
Playing with Stuffed Animals--He has only recently become interested in them. His favorite this is to attack his giant donkey.

World Cup 2026

First of all, yeah for Italy! We can't imagine the chaos there, but there is bound to be weeks of celebrating and very little work. In honor or the World Cup, Mr. Incredible taught Dash to dribble a ball. I kid you not, Dash, who has been walking for 3 weeks, can gently kick a big red ball in front of him, walk up to it again, and repeat. He dribbled AROUND the coffee table...several times. The coordination and balance this requires is tremendous. I am in shock. So, as first postulated when Dash was in utero, he's going to be a soccer player!

Little Break

Sorry to the relatives who check in on Dash every day! Mommy has been a bit exhausted after travelling so much. By 5pm I'm usually perfectly content to leave the house in the hands of a 10.5 month old. The poor little guy is left in his pj's to root through the freezer for food! Will add more soon...

One Last Wedding...and Star of the Show

Completing our circut of 4 out of town weddings in 7 weeks, we travelled to Oklahoma for Mr. Incredible's uncle's wedding. Dash regaled the small crowd by walking up and down the aisle before the wedding started and by "dancing"--he bounces up and down to the music. (Yes, Dash is more than officially walking. He can get up on his own and walk on his own, turn around, and, most of the time, avoid obstacles.)
In the "Incredible" family picture, Dash found the bride's shoes infintely more interesting than the 18 relatives that were jumping up and down and waving like crazy behind the camera!
